Surely you have heard the saying more than once that curiosity turned out to be fatal for a cat. Indeed, cats are extremely curious creatures. It seems that nothing in the world can happen without the participation of the purr. Is curiosity really dangerous for a cat?

In reality, curiosity doesn’t often go awry in cats, as they are smart enough to avoid danger. They have well-developed sense organs, they maintain excellent balance and are endowed with an extremely strong survival instinct. And this largely ensures their safety in cases where something interested the cat. Or helps to get out of a situation that would be disastrous for another animal. That is why they say that a cat has nine lives.

However, it happens that a cat overestimates its own abilities and, for example, gets stuck in a hard-to-reach gap or on the top of a tree. But in this case, they are smart enough to call for help (loudly!) so that people organize a rescue operation.

The ability of a cat to find a way out of difficult situations does not mean at all, however, that the owners may lose their vigilance. It depends on the owner how safe the manifestation of feline curiosity in the house will be.

How to keep a curious cat safe?

• Remove from the cat’s access area all objects that may be dangerous for her: needles, pins, fishing line, rubber bands, thumbtacks, bags, aluminum balls, very small toys, etc.
• Do not leave windows open unless they are equipped with a special net that prevents the cat from falling.
• Don’t expect any item to go unnoticed by your cat if you haven’t locked it up in a safe place. Cats enthusiastically explore the surrounding space and will not disregard anything.
